I am Legend

Not screen space but spending few minutes with some of the finest and magical personalities who have lived to accomplish the impossible in fields of various dimensions is an iconic feeling.

Doesn’t matter if they are made of wax, their exploits were real and kissing them on reel was a delightful tete-a-tete.

At times, I feel God won’t forgive us for what we have done to each other. Then, I realise, God left this place long back. – @ Blood Diamond.

the day of resurgence

Not married, but I got hooked this day, 4 years ago. Completely, totally, exclusively. No looking back, just love and lots of love, and lots of it. Life started a journey of fulfillment with our union, and ever since, I just keep falling in love with you. Everyday, every time. We are growing together, understanding each other, the bond just gets better. Yes, we are ready to share the best and worst of each other. We realize, we are key to each other’s success. But, I emphatically disagree. You are my lucky charm. Period.

Love you. Do I need to say more?

Blockbuster Review: Bajirao Mastani

“Bajirao ne Mastani se Mohabbat ki hai…..Aaiyashi nahi…………!”

Epics usually have an attachment of legacy and grandeur with them, and they bring a riveting sense of watchable-ness with them. Yes, Bajirao Mastani does that with ample to say but it isn’t the greatest of such marvels made in the silver screen.

The story of a warrior, his love for his community and his obsession for Mastani – that’s precisely Bajirao’s tale in this SLB creation. Bajirao isn’t your fairy tale hero of dreams and symphony, he is outrageously brave, a passionate husband, a voracious lover and is plagued by demons of his emotions and prerogatives. Adored by Kashi, caressed by Mastani and hailed by his peers – Peshwa Bajirao Ballad is the pride of the Marathas who has valiantly conquered half of Hindustan. He is palatial warrior of tentacle dimensions, a patriot of the true kind. Yet, he succumbs, not to wounds but for deep rooted love.Bajirao-Mastani-wallpaper-1For an era and a generation that lives and swears by it’s flings, this is an unbelievable yet colossal story of a largely forgotten hero.

SLB’s films are created with passion and driven by powerful performances. BM is no different. Priyanka Chopra delivers a restrained yet watchable performance. Deepika Padukone hogs the limelight as the second lady in Bajirao’s elusive cordon and gives a matured performance (her Ram Leela act was more of a I love-I die syndrome). Uncompromisingly, she looks stunning in every frame. Ranveer Singh creates a space of his own in this epic portrayal of the frolic warrior and is undoubtedly, the soul of BM. The key moments in the film goes to him and he packs quite a punch in the stellar scenes – his sequences with his wife and mother are usually staggering.

SLB’s proven strength are his visuals, and without a hitch, Bajiao Masani is exquisitely shot. Songs are passable except a couple of them – my pick is Albela Sajan and Aayat. Pinga does remind you of Madhuri-Aishwarya duel in Devas but the choreography impresses.

At a time when valuable scripts are seldom written or watched, this SLB movie brings some respite, to eyes and ears.

the glimmer tale

Sometimes, you just have to stand up, look around and weee! It’s there, it’s always been there. I have been lazy enough to ignore it and it has in turn been a wierdo, staying discreet. Brightness is to be seen, energized and rejuvenated. I know, it’s always around lest I decide to keep myself deprived.

around me

day begins with a yawn, ends with probably a bigger one. life packs quite a punch amidst the most popular and common human encore.

usually, I tend to love bright mornings but escapades of our frivolous nature have plans of their own. Quite rightly so and my arrogance to demand freebies from our creative mother seems uncalled for.

sunrise, morning breakfast, work, lunch at work, long days, get back home to a much jovial and caressing life, inside stories, memoirs, the precarious wait for weekends and the dread of monumental Monday’s. Huh!

for me, there’s much more – inside and out. Such gigs take me out of my glutton head chore and place me in a pedestal of palpable passion.

An attempt to Rejuvenate Humanity..

My visit to Cheshire Home, located in the sprawling outset of Tiruvanmiyur, is simply an attempt to rejuvenate myself, as an individual and more importantly, to redeem the social and human values, embedded within me. It has indeed been an enriching experience, ever since I started visiting this Home few years back. There is a unique serenity about this place, that fascinates me and spending some time amongst them makes me feel very relaxed, there is an utmost level of satisfaction that I continue to experience. My contribution might be very trivial as a whole, but it certainly helps in viewing life from a very different perspective altogether.
I have always believed that we all have lot of compassion within us, but thanks to the inevitable and insatiable desires of the human creed, we simply do not realise, that these are some of the most inherent qualities that a human being possesses. And we need to revitalise these feelings within us, in a timely manner.
I guess, this is my way of doing justice to what we actually are, ordinary people with extraordinary emotions, shared implicitly within ourselves.
I am definite and I pray that this desire of mine never gets extinct, throughout my life.
